Hi everyone,

i'm new to the mailing list... I'm running a RH 7.3 box on which i have
a dns (bind 9.1.2), apache (1.3.27). this box is behind a firewall (dmz
network) that nat's the ip and runs squid (2.4). So far, i have access
to my own domain via my browser (http.mydomain.tld). I want to setup a
vhost (name_based). I modified my dns and my apache conf, but i can't
access to www.anotherdomain.tld... I keep having a connection refused
error. When i telnet from the apache box to www.anotherdomain.tld 80
(GET / HTTP/1.1, host: www.anotherdomain.tld), i can get the page. But i
can't telnet from my private-networked box the apache box... moreover, i
can access with a browser www.mydomain.tld (located on my apache box),
but not to www.anotherdomain.tld (also located on the apache box).

the squid logs say :

TCP_MISS/503 1021 GET http://www.anotherdomain.tld/ - NONE/- -

and the browser says :

The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.anotherdomain.tld

The following error was encountered:

    * Connection Failed

The system returned:

    (111) Connection refused

The remote host or network may be down. Please try the request again.

So i read the google results, got to the squid faq, read the linux
weirdness (with no results, for i was already "protected" from the ecn
peril ;-) )... And so far, i can't find solution to get me out of this
problem... does anyone have a hint ?

thanks in advance
stephane
