If it is a W2K enviroment with a 2k DNS and DHCP you can do this, but
only if your DNS updates with your DHCP. You will get something like
client.yourdomain.tld

Or if its NT you can have WINS update DNS.

There is an option in squid.conf to resolve client names.

Hi all,
I'm using Version 2.4.STABLE7.

In access log, the messages are like this:
1059632449.492 24883 192.168.0.49 TCP_MISS/200 20544 GET
http://peka.or.id/z.p? - DIRECT/202.59.161.157 text/html

The question is:
Can squid show Netbios name instead of IP of the client? I'm running a
DHCP so
the IP might change everyday and it's a bit difficult to track user
activity
based on IP that changes.

Thanks a lot guys,
Fajar.
