Unless you HAVE to go through squid better options are:

1) Do not provide a FQDN for the nameofserver (I.E. instead of http://hpprinter.mycompany.com:8080 use http://hpprinter:8080) this will go direct to the device instead of through squid

2) If you have to use the FQDN, put it in the exceptions list on your browser so It doesn't go through the browser...

to all,

i'm tring to connect to HP JetAdmin utility via port 8000 and 8443 and the port number has to be specified in the address. when tring to request this via squid it returns access denied eventhough the ports are open in the squid.conf file.

http://nameofserver:8000 is the precise request

how do i make squid acept this request and forward it on to the server port
