One way is to create a proxy.pac file with rules that specify where and when a
proxy should be used. If you name it "wpad.dat" and place it on an web server
called "wpad" in your client's domain or superdomains, then IE's automatic
proxy detection will work. Of course, I've simplified it a lot and there are
other variations that include the use of DHCP and so on. Best to check out
