Hi,

you can limit bandwidth on a per user basis through delay pools, like
this:

acl myclient arp 00:08:01:09:76:3f

delay_pools 1

delay_class 1 2

delay_access 1 allow myclient
...
delay_access 1 deny all

delay_parameters 1 -1/-1 <desired bytes replenish>/<desired bytes max>

For more documentation about delay_pools take a look at Squid's FAQ.

Hi List,

Is it possible to restrict the number of instances of browser that is
serviced from a known ARP ( we authenticate against MAC address) ?

The idea is to prevent (restrict) users keeping open several instances of
say IE and preloading several windows while reading another, since this is
taking bandwidth.

Kind regards
Adrian
