Hi all

Our site has approximately 30 000 users on proxy...at any one time,
about 3000 may be surfing the web.

We are currently using a PIII, 830Mhz single proc server with 2 x 18Gb
and 1 X 68Gb SCSI drives, 1GB RAM.
the box is handling ok, but we have some cash to buy new servers....our
hw provider has come up with the ff setup :-

Intel hudson III chassis
intel clearwater-2 Dual Xeon Server board SE7501cw2
2 x xeon 2.4 Ghz procs 512 OD
2 x 1Gb DDRAM
1 x intel scsi controller
3 x seagate 36 Gb scsi drives 10 000rpm 8mb cache

I hear that squid does not run on both procs. would it be a good idea to
leave out one proc and get extra RAM?

Pls advice

thanks in advance

cheers
hement
