You SHOULD use the ntlm_auth helper provided as part of Samba.
The winbind helpers provided with Squid is for Samba-2.2.X only and will
eventually go away when there no longer is any need to support Samba-2.2.X
installations.

The wbinfo based group helper shipped with Squid-2.5.STABLE5 works fine
with all Samba versions as far as I can tell. It is just the winbind
helpers which are Samba-2.2.X specific.
