  Squid doesn't rotate logs by default;
  Check setting of :

      logfile_rotate

  in squid.conf.
    
  Squid only stops and start new log upon :

     % squid -k rotate

  Somewhere this must be 'present' on your system through
  automatic means (cron e.g.) if you regularly get new logs.
