Hi,

My setup is not a transpareny proxy. And is parent proxy.

Are you able to see any logging in access.log when the update runs?

I am not able to get Win2k pro or WinXP pro to run automatic updates at all.

Regards,
Tan

This probibly won't help you much.

I have 3 machines sitting behind a squid box running in
transparent proxy mode - no proxy configuration on any
of the 3 windows machines.

The squid box has 2 parent caches - the 2 you can setup
using the squid website, they are public access caches.

I have no problems with windows update at all.

When I get rid of transparent proxy and manually
configure the workstations to point to the proxy
I still don't have any windows update problems.

So I don't think you need to do a special allow
ACL for windows update.
