[squid-users] Fwd: Squid on a true FreeBSD Bridge

Doh, I just thought of something... how will Squid be able to fetch objects from
the internet from an interface with no IP address on it? Unless it can
passivly cache things and not actually have to be a proxy... it only caches and
returns pages in it's cache... and then again, will it be able to respond to
cache hits back through an interface with no IP address?

has anybody ever tried this...

Russ

I want to know if Squid can do web caching on a FreeBSD bridge where the
interfaces do not have IP addresses, a true bridge. The bridge it self is
completely tranparent sitting between a Cisco 5500 Switch and a gateway
router.

Can squide be configured to do web caching between 2 interfaces that do not
have
IP addresses?

Thanks for your time,

Russ
