hi all

i know there is quiet a lot on this on squid-cache FAQ...but nothing
specific to Redhat 9.

i've just installed squid 2.5 stable 5 on Linux version 2.4.20-31.9smp
(bhcompile@daffy.perf.redhat.com) (gcc version 3.2.2
20030222 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.2-5)) #1 SMP.

is there a way of increasing my default FD from 1024...without having to
recompile squid?
if so, can someone send me the procedure?

fyi

[root@athena2 ipv4]# more /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_local_port_range
32768 61000

many thanks.

rgds,
