Execute on shell #ulimit -HSn ,It will give the value of the FD

Do this,
#ulimit -HSn 32768

Can you see the 32768 on the execution of #ulimit -Hsn

It is good.

Do the above on both kernels. If you get the modified FD,then configure the squid.
Else there is a problem more to look-out.
