[squid-users] can't contact winbindd

I'm running Samba-3.0.5-2 with squid 2.5 STABLE5 on RedHat Linux9 machine.
Squid was installed with the following parameters:

  ./squid -v
  Squid Cache: Version 2.5.STABLE5
  configure options: --prefix=/etc/squid --enable-auth=ntlm,basic '--enable-ntlm-auth-helpers=SMB, winbind'
  --enable-external-acl-helpers=winbind_group --enable-basic-auth-helpers=winbind
  --enable-ntlm-auth-helpers=winbind

The auth_parameter is set to ntlm and the program is wb_ntlmauth

All the winbind checks (e.g wbinfo) works fine, i can join the domain and i
can see, from linux to NT, all the NT servers but when i use the browser
(from a NT machine configured with the new linux squid proxy) i can't see
any page. In the cache.log file i receive the message
(wb_ntlmauth)[25754] (wb_ntlm_auth.c:416):Can't contactwinbindd. Dying

and the file smbd.log (/var/log/samba)
process_loop: Invalid request size from pid 27565 this usually means that
you are running old wbinfo, pam_winbind or libnss_win bind cleints.

In your opinio what i have to do in order to setup in the correct way the
proxy

Thank u very much
