Hi Muthukumar,

I have faced a problem similar to this one, some time ago. I decided to
develop another solution to manage ACL, on a profile basis, using
mysqlembedded to store ACLs, and PHP web-based scripts to manage them.

I created an helper following external_acl specification (see at:
http://devel.squid-cache.org/external_acl/ )

The projeto is hosted on Sourceforge (http://lula.sf.net) (need much updates
there - i´m without time to upload them) and everybody are welcome to see
it, send comments, help me to make it better to use, install, et cetera.

You can ask for further details on the solution and strategy, I will be glad
to share with you.

Hello Hendrik,

Thanks for detailed explanation. I need some more queries as inlined as,

configuration file parsing ) and database oriented parsing

difference between these? Is there any performance, time rate

both Squid and SquidGuard.

Can you prefer, which ACL types are being used as flat file parsing based
and DB filter rules parsing based. How are the parsing of
filter rules are differed in implementation. All configurations are parsed
from squid.conf flat file there. where are we using logic
of db based parsing on squid.?

I heard Performance and parsing time using db based are fast. Can we adopt
db based filter rules parsing on squid-2.5 series without
using any redirectors there. How the squid-3.0 adaptation will be differed
from now?

Can you prefer, how we can know filter rules parsing with flat files or db
based conceptually? We are on-going with source files of
squid's *cf* .c and .h files. We are on the analysis to improve squid filter
rules parsing and filter adapation.

Thanks for your information and time.

Regards
Muthukumar.
