[squid-users] Best way to S|S

Hello,

What's the best way to stop|start the squid process.

/sbin/squid -k kill OR pkill -9 squid

/sbin/service squid start OR /sbin/squid

I need clearification about Stopping squid which if used to stop
improperly would cause crashes also.
