Hello list

This is my frist post to the list.

I am trying to get a proxy server running with basic athentication
using ncsa_auth.
My problem is the following:

I open the browser and the server prompts me for a username and
password to navigate. I enter the correct username/password pair and
the browser returns me a "connection refused by server" error message.
If I enter the wrong password the server prompts me again for the
password so I guess it is reading correctly the password file I
created using apache's htpasswd program (which I obtained by compiling
and installing apache)

The logfile access.log shows me
1110233611.251 7 170.210.88.9 TCP_DENIED/407 2754 GET
http://www.google.com.ar/ - NONE/- text/html

when I try to access Google

I use squid-3.0-PRE3-20050303 on a Sun Ultra5 with Debian Sarge

btw, in normal mode configuration I can navigate fine. That is,
allowing my net to access the cache

Any more help you need, just ask
Thanks in advance

Raul
