RE: [squid-users] Minimal squid Proxy

Does the "cache_dir null" directive turn caching off?

Also, the "forwarded_for on" directive, is it required for the "cache_dir" directive set to null?

If you are using acl's, will they still be parsed if you don't cache? For example if I deny particular addresses.

Thanks,

Sam

I went for:

http_port localhost:8888
cache_dir null /tmp

ftp_list_width 80
request_header_max_size 15 KB
request_body_max_size 50 MB
client_lifetime 120 minutes
half_closed_clients off

visible_hostname spiderboy-nocache.charite.de
acl all src 0.0.0.0/0

forwarded_for on

icon_directory /usr/share/squid/icons
error_directory /usr/share/squid/errors/German

cache_access_log /var/log/squid/access-nocache.log
cache_log /var/log/squid/cache-nocache.log
cache_store_log /var/log/squid/store-nocache.log

pid_filename /var/run/squid-nocache.pid
