The first can work with squid-2.5, naturally. The second requires squid-3.0
or squid-2.5 with SSL patch.

In the second condiguration, you'll get higher CPU usage on squid and on
http server too. IT also has no advantages unless the link between squid and
http server is unsecure for you.
