Some info about your environment:

- OS is Solaris 2.8 on Sparc, but what hardware, 64 or 32 bit ?
- And what Solaris patch level ?, the latest ?
- What gcc version ?
- During build, do you can confirm that optimization (-O) is not enabled ?

Could be useful, if you can post the configure output.
