Hello,

I have currently implemented NTLM (with winbind) in order that my users
authenticate to AD 2000 servers (internet access allowed if they belong to
the correct group)
It NTLM is not available on the browser, then it switches to Basic
Authentication. (then with login popup)

I would like to replace if possible the basic authentication alternative by
something safer.

What do you recommend as replacement authentication solution ? Could ldap
for instance be used ?
For this alternative solution , having login popup is not a issue. The
'only' prerequisite to authenticate to AD groups of users ?

Thanks in advance,

Lionel
