I have changed the line to

auth_param credentialsttl 5 minutes

and I still get the following when I run the mysql_auth libexec setup

Core was generated by `./squid -N -f /usr/local/squid/etc/squidAuth.conf'.
Program terminated with signal 6, Aborted.
