Yes.

2.6.STABLE1 and later, with some minor improvements in later versions.

Enabled by default.

Can be distabled by

a) Disabling persistent connections

b) http_port option disabling connection oriented authentication.

c) Cache-peer option telling Squid that a peer does not support
connection oriented authentication even if it looks like it may..
