Hi Kurt,

I did the c-icap install from FreeBSD-6.1 ports and c-icap seems to start with no problem.

/usr/local/etc/rc.d/c_icap forcestart
Starting c_icap.
Initialization of echo module......
Initialization of url_check module......

I followed the docs at: http://c-icap.sourceforge.net/install.html

Everything seems to be working fine until I try to access sites using the icap-squid proxy and get the following error:

ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved

While attempting to retrieve the URL: http://www.squid-cache.org/mail-archive/squid-dev/200411/0032.html

the following error was encountered:

    * ICAP protocol error.

Some aspect of the ICAP communication failed. Possible problems:

    * ICAP server is not reachable.
    * Illegal response from ICAP server.

Can somebody shed some light on this or provide further documentation regarding icap-squid setup.
I think that I may have missed something regarding clamav setup in my system.

Both c-icap and squid are running in my system:
