[squid-users] squid reports "HIT"; was representation validated?

If I generate an HTTP request and the response headers include
X-Cache: HIT from proxy.mydomain.com

is there any way of telling whether squid sent out its cached representation
immediately (based on freshness info) or whether validation occurred before
squid sent out its cached representation?
