My http_access lines are below:

http_access allow manager localhost
http_access deny manager
http_access deny !Safe_ports
http_access deny CONNECT !SSL_ports
acl MyNetwork src 10.1.0.0/255.255.0.0
http_access allow MyNetwork

Please let me know if you need to see any other lines. I will review
the link you sent.

The referenced article was a bit sparse on where to insert the ACL and
http_access line... My guess is you are allowing the traffic without
authentication, but without seeing your http_access lines (in order)
it's impossible to say.

Have a look at the FAQ section on ACLs to see if that helps you solve
