Hi,

bijayant@bijayant ~ $ ulimit -n
1024

I have tried to change this via giving the command
ulimit -HSn 8192

/usr/include/bits/typesizes.h
/* Number of descriptors that can fit in an `fd_set'.
*/
#define __FD_SETSIZE 8192

rebooted my machine several times, also
cat /proc/sys/fs/file-max
11032

I am using gentoo.
