[squid-users] 'squid -z' going wrong...

I am installing squid on a new (actually old, but it's newly installed
with FreeBSD) box. I'm trying to do squid -z to initialize cache, and
it's not working as I expect from reading squid.conf.default.

The error:

zsquid2# /usr/local/sbin/squid -z
FATAL: Bungled squid.conf line 6: cache_dir aufs /squid 54476 512 1024
Squid Cache (Version 3.0.STABLE6): Terminated abnormally.
CPU Usage: 0.021 seconds = 0.021 user + 0.000 sys
Maximum Resident Size: 3808 KB
Page faults with physical i/o: 0

/squid is a RAID0 volume, and it's 133gbytes in size, so I'm using
less than half of it.

What am I doing wrong? I've tried various sizes for the Megabytes, L1
and L2 parameters, and nothing seems to work.
