Hi All

I have a delicate question concerning NTLM authentication in squid. Is
there anyway to make the authentication last longer, because my user's seem
to be loosing it when accessing certain pages(when clicking refresh
everything works until authentication is lost again)? This happens on
firefox,ie6,ie7. When leaving only Basic authentication everything works
fine, hence my deduction that there's something wrong with NTLM. I had
encountered this issue on squid-2.6.STABLE19 and squid-3.0.STABLE8

If anyone has NTLM configured and would like to see if they get a
similar error. Follow the four steps :) Polish site(this is the only site
that I can produce the error without having to create an account[other sites
experiencing problems include banks, pages with java-applets]).

     1. Go to: http://www.generatorwnioskow.efs.gov.pl
     2. Click on the button on the left marked as "Dalej"
     3. In the Blue form only fill in the date attribute point 1.8 use the
calendar icon to select it. "Od" is From and "Do" is Till. So make sure that
the later date isn't older :).
     4. Click on "Zapisz XML" which means save and press cancel. (This
should work the first and maybe the second time). But if you use NTLM auth
it will eventually transfer you Internet Explorer Cannot display the web
page. When firefox is used the basic authentication windows pops out on the
second try but typing in a correct username and password doesn't help you
get (Cache Access Denied). If you go back to the page you will be able to
download the file again.

If anyone has any idea's on the subject Please let me know. A
possibility to let some sites use Basic instead of NTLM would be nice if
that was possible.

Peace
