Hello,

we are using Squid3 Stable9.

Although I compiled it with the option "--with-maxfd=4096" and added a
"umlimit -HSn 4096" to the beginning of the squid start script, it
only allows 1024 fds:

2008/09/29 14:08:05| Starting Squid Cache version 3.0.STABLE9 for x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu...
2008/09/29 14:08:05| Process ID 6408
2008/09/29 14:08:05| With 1024 file descriptors available

From squidclient:

File descriptor usage for squid:
Maximum number of file descriptors: 1024

Any hint where I can point my finger at?

Thanks,
Dietmar
