Segmentation fault

suddently happen
but it solved with rm -rf /var/log/squid/access.log
and re create /var/log/squid/access.log

but in some documentation from uncle google
i found some people said they change the squid log format
and re run but it still same error
then they turn the squid log format back to default
and it works

some one know why this is happen ?
i write here because i think :
- some ppl maybe use sarg and have this problem too
- ( maybe ) this problem can be prevent from squid.conf ?
