Hi, im not sure if this is the way to get an advice about running a
dedicated squid server with a large set of ram...
The server in question is:

4x Quad Core AMD OpteronT 8350
128GB Memory, 32X4GB, 667MHz
4x 146GB 15K RPM Serial-Attach SCSI 3Gbps 3.5-in HotPlug Hard Drive

I need a big fast transparent cache, I was thinking at using Gentoo +
Squid 3.1 + TProxy v4, but reading at internet i found almost none
talking about squid using so much ram for hot objets (cache_mem), so im
asking for help in order to config this server correctly and using the
most of ram for caching objects (small and big) and avoiding the most
possible the swapping, i have read about squid troubles managing big
object cached in ram, so any comments and sugs will be welcome. thanx in
advance
