[squid-users] Running two squid3 process, Why?

I am using squid3, After starting squid It creates two process

$sudo squid3
$ps -A

It displays something like......
                    .
                    .
 6325 ?        00:00:00 squid3
 6327 ?        00:00:25 squid3
 6328 ?        00:00:00 unlinkd
 6367 ?       .
                   .
                   .

Can anybody tell me why it has created two processes?
