As Debian Lenny contains only 3.0STABLE8 and the bug is said to be fixed
 in 3.0STABLE18 i would suggest to file a bug report for the Debian
package so the maintainer can backport the fix for this problem into the
Debian package.

For Squid itself there is the already closed bug:
