Ok, I see what you mean.

Yes, I tried the https://www.openssl.org and it worked a-ok but it's still not showing in my squid log.

Can you connect to https sites from the proxy without using Squid? This
must work for Squid to work..

Btw, I can not connect to that https://www.tcfbank.com server from here
with or without Squid.. connection timeout after 2 minutes.

Another site you can try:

  wget -O- https://www.openssl.org/
