"transparent" for XFF does not exist in Squid-2.
Regarding its usage:
Use it only if you completely trust the XFF headers sent to your squid
by the directly connected software. In the chain:
A->B->Squid->Internet
Squid using XFF transparent option will make "B" not visible to
"Internet". Showing "Internet" the XFF chain "A->Squid"
