Can you look at the memory usage of the helper. I am aware of some 
underlying Kerberos library memory leaks. The best way to find out where the 
leak is to use valgrind e.g.  ./squid_kerb_auth_test proxy 1 | 
valgrind --log-file=squid_kerb_auth_test-1.val --leak-check=full --show-reachable=yes 
 -v  ./squid_kerb_auth -d <your options>
