[squid-users] Multiple Squid Daemons running at startup

Hi Folks ¡!!

  The last week I configure an IPCOP 1.4.21 box ( Linux ipcop 2.4.36 #1 Tue Jul 22 13:13:24 GMT 2008 i686 pentium4 i386 GNU/Linux ) with Advproxy plug-in, which runs with squid 2.7STABLE9. The box is running fine, but I found a curious detail with the squid service:

   When I boot up the box the squid service runs, instead  of two process ( parent and child ), 18 children process like this:

  It always run 18 process and doesn´t care if I restart manually, with the script, with -N option or wherever method I use to run.

  I never see this before. My other boxes running Slackware, Redhat, Ubuntu always run just two process. The main difference is I always compile the source tar ball, but in this case the plug-in module has a precompiled squid version ).

  Do you have any ideas why this happen ??
