It would be helpful if you could estimate the amount of traffic this
proxy will see. Particularly new connections per second sort of info. OS
this will run on etc, etc.

If you have an existing setup the proxy is going to move into you can
glean a relatively good estimate by counting SYN packets on port 80 at
peak load.
