Squid does not bridge. Squid is a proxy. It only proxies traffic. The
box underneath Squid can be bridging non-HTTP traffic, but that is not
Squid.

Also, HTTP specifications mandate certain alterations to the traffic
when proxied. There is no transparent. There is interception in various
forms though.

There is one obvious "Pro", and many hidden "Cons" ...
