Dear all,

here's the case. This is a Squid 2.7 Installation on a Apple XServe G5 PowerPC64 Server with:
2 GhZ G5 PowerPC 64 Bit
5 GB RAM
1x 1TB Harddrive /
1x 500 GB Harddrive 500 GB /var
1x 500 GB Harddrive 500GB /usr

This system is doing nothing but:

DNS, NTP, Squid. The System should almost use any resource it has (90 %) for squid.

Squid listens and should take requests from 192.168.0.6 / 255.255.254.0
and send them out via 10.0.0.6 / 255.255.255.240, Nameserver: 10.0.0.1, Gateway: 10.0.0.1

The System should have some restrictions called "schmuddel" and the users should authenticate via LDAP

The resources should be used: 1x 500 GB for Cache 1x 500 GB for logs (logs begin taken for 365 days per day to day rotation)

What's the goal: Do optimize the config that it should cache almost anything important so the net get's fast, as mentioned there's enough hard drive space and memory to do so ... Problem is I'm not expertised enough to modify the config myself...

Could you please be of assistance. Thanks in advance :)

Here's the config:

If you want please shorten it .... Please send me your solution to: markus_at_thues.net

Thanks !!!
