I ran Debian exclusively for 15 years, but all the applications just got too old, even if you're up-to-date. I ran Testing.
Switched to Manjaro about six months ago and am very happy. It's Arch based and lightweight, especially with the XFCE desktop.
I wouldn't have Ubuntu of any flavor after this:
