The default logged username is *a* user name (note spaces) that could
come from any one of a handful of sources: decoded auth header, user=FOO
response key from auth helper, user=FOO response key from the ACL
helper, SSL client certificate User CN, IDENT protocol lookup.

Given that its Basic auth, it is probably the decoded auth header one in
your case.
