Thus requires a matching forward-proxy http_port to be configured in Squid.

Test the usage as would a real client of the proxy..
 * for a forward-proxy configure the browser proxy settings manually or
via PAC.
 * for "transparent interception" (note its a 2-word phrase) do not
configure the browser at all.
