squid + linux-2.4.1 problem?

Hi

I'm testing squid-2.4 on someone's linux box running kernel 2.4.1,
and I'm having some weird problems.

It seems that by itself, poll is returning ENOMSG. Now, the linux
poll manpage doesn't even list ENOMSG as a return error, and I've
never seen it before.

If I ran it inside gdb, it quite happily ran without any strange
poll error messages (which initialy led me to think it might be
a signal related issue, with some signal generating EINTR continuously,
but..)

Here is a snippet from config.status outlining the configuration.

# ./configure --prefix=/usr --exec_prefix=/usr --bindir=/usr/sbin --sbindir=/us
r/sbin --libexecdir=/usr/lib/squid --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var/spool/
squid --enable-async-io=32 --enable-gnuregex --enable-carp --enable-dlmalloc --e
nable-snmp --enable-linux-netfilter --enable-stack-traces '--enable-storeio=disk
d aufs ufs coss' --enable-time-hack --enable-err-language=Spanish --disable-iden
t-lookups --enable-delay-pools --enable-htcp --enable-poll --enable-cache-digest
s --enable-underscores

Can someone with linux clue help me out on this one?

(please CC me as my creative.net.au domain is currently DNSless. :()

Thanks!

Adrian
