antivirus: hook to scan downloaded file

hello,
    we are about to write a module that scan, for viruses, downloaded
file from squid, we have two routes:

1- write a module for squid
2- write a module for apache

the second solution is know to work (trendmicro do) with the first we
can write a module
that send downloaded file to a generic virus scanner server
(avp,symantec etc) without the need of apache
module with send to a virus scanner. is there a interface (hook) with
deal with file download from squid (generic fileter)?
