Quesion about Trim and Mmap operations of chunks.

Hi, everyone!

I have read the source codes about Trim and Mmap operation
of chunks. But I still do not understand what means Trim and
Mmap opeartions of chunks. Where can I find docuemnts about
details on what means Trim and Mmap?
