Depends on the perspective.
Squid administrators: Not very much major changes, except maybe that
accelerator mode works very differently from earlier versions.
Developers: The change from C to C++, and a large scale rework of many
of the Squid internals in the process.
In ChangeLog, Release Notes etc we try to document the changes
relevant to the administrators. People interested in the internals
are assumed to follow and participate in squid-dev discussions.
