Well, the key thing is subunit
(http://www.robertcollins.net/unittest/subunit) which can integrate
tests from multiple languages/test environments. And it seems to me that
we are going to need multiple languages if the test suite grows, if only
because we have multiple languages in use - we depend on awk and perl
and C++ minimally.
