I believe you should be able to do it for Squid.
We are having a third partition split here to
make better use of the controllers.

cache_swap 15000
cache_dir /proxy1 5000
cache_dir /proxy2 5000
cache_dir /proxy3 5000

The Cached will alternate the storage for new
entries.

Anyone use Squid for high load condition,
1 million hit per day ?
