Please, if you do add this 'smart expire' feature requested above, please
make it configurable since contacting the source requires an online
connection. Some of are, however, running squid on an offline system to
provide for an universal cache for all system users and browsers.

But I have a similiar question:

Why does squid _always_ reload the entire page if the client sends a reload
request instead of sending an if-modified-since request?

Or is this a problem with the client I am using? (Lynx-2.5FM 1996-06-17)
